JOSE MIGUEL ESPAT, JR.
ReplyDeleteHello! My name is Jose Miguel Espat, Jr. I am presently teaching Spanish at Wesley College. I have taught at Pallotti High School, St. Catherine Academy and the Anglican Cathedral College. The foundation of my beliefs stems from the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and those of my parents. Such beliefs comprise of values such as responsibility, integrity and fear of God. My personal life values are integrated in my professional life and as such, I take those values to the classroom. Catholic education has been at the core of my development. I am a God-fearing person whose actions will conform to Catholic doctrine. For example, my parents ensured that we all attend Mass, share meals and go on vacation as a family. Our home was filled with abundant love and respect. Fear of God, coupled with self-discipline and determination, has allowed me to maintain a high moral rectitude. Likewise, it has enabled me to reject the status quo if it lacks compliance with Catholic ideals. I enjoy gardening, stamp collecting, interior decorating (I possess a Certificate in Interior Design), travelling and listening to music. I also enjoy making &/or eating desserts! I have a Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration and presently pursuing a Diploma in Education. I expect to learn a lot from the course in order for me to become a more competent educator. I come to class with an open mind, willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to do my assignments as I aspire to get an A. With the addition of Measurement and Evaluation, I will become an even better educational leader and learner. I look forward to your class with enthusiasm as I will pick up some wisdom in my educational journey of life. I share your sentiment in being a true professional. It surely enhances one´s character.
First allow me to introduce myself to you, and give a brief background on the purpose and expectations of taking this class. My name is Elmer Ortiz, and I am a secondary school teacher, currently teaching in Belize City. I have been a teacher for the past fifteen years, during which time I have focused my teaching on the business subjects of Principles of Accounting, Principles of Business, Economics and Office Administration. I have also had the opportunity to teach Spanish at the secondary level.
ReplyDeleteI am currently enrolled in the educational program here at the University of Belize, with my immediate goal of obtaining my Diploma in Education Certificate, which will enable me to maintain my full license. This class in measurement and evaluation is the last of the series of pedagogical classes before my internship, and I look forward to a successful venture in exploring the topic.
Some expectations of the class that I have include reviewing various teaching techniques and forms of assessments, with a focus on rubric preparation. I am also curious to learn how to incorporate technology in measurement and evaluation that I may apply in my classes. In addition, I am expecting to be exposed to new and modern concepts in testing and evaluation.
I look forward to all that you can offer in my educational experience.
Hello everyone, my name is Melissa Martinez and I'm currently enrolled in the Diploma in Education in Belize City. I'm originally from Corozal Town but living at Belize City. I enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. I'm presently taking my last two courses which are Measurement and Evaluation and Philosophy in Education. I hope to start my internship in January so I can complete my Diploma in Education and obtain my full license as a teacher. I'm working at Wesley College in Belize City for three years and I teach Information Technology at lower level and Business Courses (Principles of Accounts, Office Administration and Electronic Document Preparation and Management) at upper level. I hope by d end of this semester I would have obtained useful information that I can use as a teacher especially when assessing my students' performance. I'm aiming for an A in this course and I hope to complete my objective by completing all assignments and quizzes to the best of my abilities. I would like this course to develop my skills to be able to become a more efficient and competent educator so that my students can obtain the most of their academics. I know by the end of the 16 weeks I would have gained much knowledge that can be applied in my classroom evaluation. I start the semester with much interest and willingness to learn from the lecturer'a and other other classmates experiences.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Anya Sophia Petzold. I am 23years old and the youngest of four children. I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in primary education. I am a teacher a Queen Square primary school and has been teaching for four years. Math is one of my favorite classes and I enjoy teaching it to my students. I believe being in your class will help me develop better strategies for teaching math and be able to incorporate technology when teaching.I'm aiming for an A in this course and to do so I will participate in class, prepare for the class, be on time and complete all my assignments.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Shawn Marie Talbert. I was born in Belize City some 40 years ago and ever since I was a child growing up I wanted to be a teacher. I am currently teaching at Queen Square Primary School and have been teaching for 14 years. I am taking this class because I believe that I need the help when it comes to focus on the principles of my classroom measurement and testing. Also when it comes to grading exams this class will benefit me a lot. I am a bit nervous and also excited for this class because math has always been a weakness for me, but with your help I believe I will overcome my fears and do exceptionally well. I hope to achieve an A+ in this course, for me to achieve that grade I plan to work very hard by paying attention, do all my assignments, come to class on time and have a good relationship with my teacher.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Cooper, I hope that you are okay and that all is well. My name is Nicholett Candice Bradley and I'm 29 years old. My present address is # 2 Eleanor Usher Street in Belize City. It's a new area situated close to the George Price Highway at 21/2 miles. My house seems very silent at times since I don't have any children at this point in my life, but hoping to have at least two some day. I've been teaching at Holy Redeemer School since 2008. Teaching is my calling and I really love what I do. It makes me feel good to know that I made a change in at least one child's life each year. Going to school and teaching demands a lot from me if I want to do well in both areas. My goal is definately to pass since I'm paying my own school fees, plus use what I learnt to up grade my teaching strategies.
ReplyDeleteThe main reason why I came to school is to finish my bachelor in Primary Education. I'm presently doing three classes this August, will do another three January. Then I'm hoping to get my study leave September of next year to finish up my courses. This school year I'm trying to keep an open mind and be positive in all that I do. So I hope for the best and I will try very hard to pass this course. The reason I say so is because I have not done "blog" in a long time. So it's like I have to practice all over again. The idea is good but I really need to pay keen attention. I'm looking forward to a fruitful year and to practice what I preach.
My name is Patrick Flowers. I work at Belize Rural High School and teach Information Technology to all forms. I've recently completed my degree in Information Technology and I’m currently pursuing my Diploma in Education in order for me to attain my Full License. I’m a very outgoing person and am willing to apply whatever I've learnt in the classroom. I love computers and motorcycles and enjoy building websites and driving around on my motorbike. Of course, I plan to attain an A upon completion of this course. Initially, I thought that this class would be a class that mainly covers standardization and assessment methods. However, after the first class, I realize that it will expose us to new ways in integrating technology in the classroom in addition to the usage of methods to properly analyse and evaluate student’s performance.
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Ms. Cooper,
ReplyDeleteMost people have an extraordinary story about themselves. Well, that’s not really the case for me. I’m just a regular twenty-two year old that is trying to juggle work, school and an almost diminished social life. My name is Jacy-Lee Alina Pou and I’m currently pursuing my Bachelors Degree in English Education. I am a primary school teacher for the past four years. I have taught at Epworth Methodist School in Dangriga Town, Ebenezer Methodist and St. Luke Methodist, both in Belize City. I have recently been transferred to Burrell Boom Methodist School which I will be teaching Standard 1 for the upcoming school year. I would describe myself as being sociable and humorous. I enjoy listening to music, drawing and watching stand-up comedies.
In this course, I expect to enhance my knowledge of assessing my students’ work, generating rubrics and other grading criteria. I am open to learn new concepts and strategies that I will be able to utilize in my classroom. That’s a little introduction of myself.
My name is Wan-hsuan Lin and most people just call me Molly. I am currently teaching at Sainth Catherine Academy. I teach information technology. I have a master's degree in informtation system. I am taking this course to get my diploma in education. I enjoy reading, watching movies and travelling.
ReplyDeleteI have always expect my student to do their best so I will expect myself for the same thing. I am expecting a grade nothing less than A-. In order to attain this, I will attend class on time, do my homework and hand it in on time and cooperate with the lecturer and my group members. I also expect to learn a lot from this course and be able to apply it in my classroom where my students will be able to benefit from it.
My name is Dawn Wade. I'm presently the Vice Principal for Academic Affairs at the St. Martins de Porres Primary School. I have been an educator for twenty-five years serving twenty-four of them at the St. Martins de Porres teaching all levels.
ReplyDeleteThis course is a requirement for my degree program. I trust that this course will provide me with the tools and skills that will allow me to be more effective.
Given my dedication and commitment to my studies I plan to obtain an A. I fully intent to actively participate and contribute to my learning process through the completion of all assignments; maximum attendance at class and to continue to engage both inside and outside of the classroom.
Hi, my name is Silverio Lin. I am currently enrolled in the Education Methodology Program at the University of Belize. I am a teacher at Ladyville Technical High School. The reason I am taking Measurement and Evaluation is because this course will bring me one step closer in completing my Diploma in Education. I expect to get an A in this course. In order to accomplish this, I must read my text, do all assignments, review, be punctual to class and pass all my assessments. In addition, I ought to display a positive attitude toward learning and work cooperatively whenever I get the opportunity to work in a group. Furthermore, need to ensure that I stay focused on my goal, monitor my progress and make necessary changes in an effort to learn everything I can from my instructor. I am presently recovering from a spinal surgery. My lower back had to be reconstructed. I am blessed to be able to walk and live a normal life.
ReplyDeleteI am Janine Carballo, I recently started the college life once again. I have completed my Associates in Tourism Studies and my Bachelor in Tourism Management. I am currently enrolled in the education program to complete my pedagogy. I have been teaching for 3 years at Ladyville Technical High School and enjoy my job.
ReplyDeleteWhen I am not at work I like to relax at home watching a good movie or simply listening to some good music.
I this subject I will work to achieve an A, I will put my all to ensure that I achieve my goal.
My name is Shakira Robateau; I am a Mathematics teacher at Edward P. Yorke High School. I have been teaching for the last ten (10) years and I have done my prerequisites for the Bachelor in Math Edu program at UB. I am yet to go on study leave to complete the program; those arrangements are in the pipeline. I took off 2 semesters (during 2013-1 and 2) to ensure that i had sufficient time to assist my son with PSE preparation (he sat apr and may 2014 and did well). Nonetheless, the mandate is such that i must show an attempt to attain pedagogy; thus my reason for enrolling in this course (2014-1).
ReplyDeleteFull time teaching and its many responsibilities makes it difficult for ME to attempt more than 1 course at this time. I am charged up and excited though to execute the requirements you proposed last Friday, especially since many of your teaching methods (the online communication and blogging) are not 'my cup of tea'. I will definitely learn how to blog as well as increase my computer skills. I am so 'old school.' I am used to the traditional classroom setting and testing. It is not what I had expected but I am adjusting, hence the lateness of this intro. My apologies.
My academic expectations is to get an A. :) I hope to gain knowledge that directly relates to and is applicable to the secondary level at which I teach.
Hi. My name is Nicolee Muhammad. I am a 34 years old mother of two children, Ishmali 16 and Isis 13. I was born in this beautiful country and was raised in the Lake Independence Area. I really never wanted to be a teacher. My dream was to become a nurse because of my caring, loving and giving personality however, I was called to the teaching profession ten years ago and every since I have been one of the best teachers at the Muslim Community Primary School. I love what I do so much and I strive to educate my students to best of my abilities, hence the reason I believe the good teacher are made not born. I specifically love teaching in the Infant Division because there is where the children are like moulding claw. I am part of the processes of shaping them into becoming productive human beings.
ReplyDeleteI am presently on two years study leave and I am enrolled the bachelors degree program at the University of Belize. I have signed up for this Measurement and Evaluation course because it is a part of my course sequence in my program. From this course, I hope to learn how to better design test, quizzes, exams etc as well as learning how to accurately and fairly assign points to the items that I place in these assessment tools for the betterment of both myself and my students. Getting an “A” in this course would be excellent but because of my weakness in mathematics I will settle for a “Bt”. In order to get this expected “Bt” I will attend each and every class, listen attentively, participate in class activities and discussions, do all the required assignments and most importantly ask questions when something is not clear to me.
I am looking forward to a very productive semester, and to passing this stage of my journey in becoming an even greater teacher in little Belize.
Hi Ms. Cooper am back in your class hence the reason I am posting up your assignment. My name is Pamela Leslie. I am a Special Education teacher at Stella Maris School. I have been teaching there for the past 10 years. I am presently on long leave, with that I decided to go back to school to obtain a bachelor degree in Primary Education. this measurement and Evaluation class is on my course sequence so I signed up for this class. Juggling six classes between Belize City and Belmopan for this semester am looking for a passing grade. i will be as active as possible in the class and with group work and presentations, in order to gain more knowledge on how to plan an effective test and quizzes. I will make a special effort to be on time for class due to the fact that it is on Fridays and I live all the way in Sandhill Village, whereby public transportation is a problem after a certain time.
ReplyDeleteA Pleasant Good day to one and all, I am George Davis Sr. I am a 33 year old of South Side Belize City, who is the son of former Mayor of Belize City, Belize in 1989 Cyril Davis (deceased) and Geraldine Morris a naturalized Belizean. I am the proud father of three beautiful children that are my life changer. They are Shereina Davis 16, George Davis 12 and Rajon 4. I am a graduate of Edward. P. Yorke where I first encounter Ms. Cooper and again at SJCJC Sixth form when I attained my Associates. I have had some great classes with you and am looking forward in continuing the trend here in measurement and evaluation. I am currently a member of the Diocesan Education Board and work directly from Queen's Square Anglican as an Assistant teacher. Hence, I was given study leave to complete my Bachelors in Primary Education with an attempt to seek professional development to enhance my skills, strategies, methodologies and pedagogy while in the classroom. Furthermore, I believe that the measure and evaluation class is an essential one as it is geared towards structuring test questions and adequately assigning grades base on the degree of difficulty and the level of the questions being asked. It is my view that by the of this class, we would have learn our errors of the past and correct them as we are re-integrated back into the classroom to demonstrate and execute what we have learnt. I must say that one draw back in view is attending class Fridays, but that is a minor setback compare to knowledge that will be pass and gain. I look forward to working with you through this semester.
ReplyDeleteThe End.
